The Unknown

Change is the unknown and the unknown can be scary, but if you trust in God and realize all things work together with him then and only then can you have the faith to get through any situation.   The bible says in Psalm 55:22 “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.”  with that in mind no matter what the known might be, a new boss, new job, new school or maybe even a new church, rest assure God is there and God will not let you fail.

Love God, Love People -

What you need in your life

In Matthew 12:26 Jesus said A house divided against itself shall not stand. Division in a marriage, any relationship, company or church will keep it from going into its future with full strength.  Division drains energy in any relationship. That’s exactly what Satan wants to do in every area of our life.  If he can divide us, he can drain our strength for life and conquer us.  It takes work to walk in unity with someone else, but walking together brings strength.  Amos 3:3 Can two walk together except they be agreed?  The answer is no!  Make up your mind that you are willing to do what it takes to bring agreement into your marriage, family, business and church.

Grow, Persevere and Last

Psalm 92:12 tells us The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree. The word flourish means to grow vigorously, the ability to persevere in difficult times, the ability to last.

The Lord used the analogy of the Palm tree to show us that as believers in Christ Jesus we have the ability to persevere in difficult times.  The Palm tree has the unique ability unlike other trees to grow in difficult and even desert like conditions. Are you in a desert in your finances, health, marriage or raising children?  You have the ability of God to go through difficult times by faith and come out with the blessing of God upon you. Don’t quit, give up or compromise.  Immerse yourself into the word of God and allow it to give you direction and strength in your current battle. Remember, As a Believer your more than the devil can handle. You have the ability to grow, persevere and last.

Spending Time With Him

Mark 3:13-14 tells us Jesus called unto Him who He would and they came unto Him. He ordained twelve that they should be with Him.  Our first calling in life is to spend time with Jesus.  Jesus called unto Him who he would, He didn’t take volunteers, He chose who He wanted to be with Him. He called us to spend time with Him, to minister to Him and only then are we ready to go to the world.  Many are so busy doing the work of ministry that they forget why or for whom they are doing it. You can be so busy with the work of the Lord that you forget the Lord of the work! In this New Year let’s start spending time with Him. Maybe you don’t have hours to spend praying and reading the word, but you can find some time to spend with Him. How about praying and worshiping Him on your way to work and back. Take some time in the evening to get into His word so He might change you and bring direction to your life. This is your calling in life: Spending Time With Jesus. Let’s do it!

Giving Thanks

Psalm 105:1 tells us “O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.” The Psalmist exhorts us to first thank the Lord for all He has done for us. Take some time during this Thanksgiving and reflect about all the good things the Lord has blessed you with, your mate, children, grandchildren, your job, joy, peace, and your health. Then the Psalmist tells us to make known his deeds among the people.  During this time of gathering with family and friends tell someone how much the Lord has blessed you and how He has blessed you.  I trust you will have a relaxing time with loved ones during this season.

The Great Confession

Christianity is called The Great Confession.  Romans 10:8-9 “The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart that is the word of faith which we preach.  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”  Faith is found in two places, in your heart then your mouth. When you confessed what you believe about salvation, your heart changed and you were saved. When you confess what you believe based on God’s word over your trial or your negative situation it will change as well.  Much speaking changes nothing, but Faith in God’s word does. Jesus didn’t say if you badger your mountain with enough words it will crumble, no He said if you believe in your heart and say it with your mouth it will obey you.  Believing and confessing the Word of God go hand in hand. Believe what God’s word says about you, and then confess what God’s word says about you.

Onward Christian Soldier!

Too many Christians have affection for their life before they knew Christ as their Savior than they do for their Christian life today. In Exodus 14:12, the children of Israel said, “For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”  The Israelites had quickly forgotten the 400 years of slavery that their former generations went through with no hope for their tomorrows.  Just because they had some trouble in life, they wanted to go back to Egypt. Statistics show most women in abusive relationships, once freed, go back into them because they would rather live in what is familiar rather than getting out of the abusive relationship and into the unknown.

If you live in your yesterdays, it will keep you from your inheritance today.  If you look back too much, you’ll soon be heading that way.  Stop looking at where you have been and start looking at where you can be.  Your destiny and calling in life is always forward – never backward.  Onward Christian Soldier!

What are you Magnifying?

Psalm 34:3 Oh magnify the Lord with me, let us exalt His name forever.

When the Lord brought the children of Israel to the Promised Land they magnified the number and strength of their enemy to be more than their God. They said the people are great with walled cities, but the Lord said it’s yours for the taking. They then magnified their own weaknesses saying we can’t. We are called to be I can people, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. They then magnified the difficulties of the way. The Lord never said it would be easy, but said it will be possible if you believe and walk with me. When you magnify something it gets bigger and more of your attention, if you will magnify the Lord to be more than your enemy, your weakness, and the difficulties of life you will see life will take on a new strength to go on. Oh magnify the Lord with me! Encourage yourself in the Lord your God.

Don’t Look Back!

If you live in your yesterdays it will keep you from your inheritance today; if you look back too much you’ll soon be heading that way. So stop looking at where you have been and start looking at where you can be. Your destiny & calling in life is always forward never backward. The sin of Lot’s wife was not the looking back from where she came, but a longing to go back. She somehow had a perverted passion for the past. When Lot’s wife looked back, she could go no further. Refuse to look back, but press on towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

We see many giving up and quitting in the day we live in. We see them quitting in their marriage, on their children, family, giving up on their government and country and giving up on God. Many quit not for a lack of vision, or faith, but for a lack of resolve. Resolve is born out of counting the cost. Before getting married you count the cost of leaving the single life and dedicating your life to one person, then when hard times came, your course was already set and you continued on through the storm. In too many trying times, too many people quit trying. Look not at the problem, but see the “Big picture”.  See Gods hand of deliverance in your situation. A man is not finished when he is defeated. He is finished when he quits.  One of the most powerful success principles ever preached is: Never give up!
